The Techniques used with the BVM
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
The Lymphatic system is responsible for helping the body to filter out its toxins and waste. When circulation is sluggish, toxins get trapped in cells, tissues and organs. As our body strives to deal with the extra pressure it is being put under, our immune systems, energy levels and skin are all affected. This is where the skin probably suffers most in the form of spots, dull skin, increased sensitivity, allergies, dryness, oiliness, acne, cellulite and water retention ?(this can be seen by puffiness around the eyes, cheeks and chin). Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage will help kick start the lymphatic system and give the skin a healthy, vital glow that emanates from within as well as boosting your energy levels and immune system.
Acupressure
Acupressure is an ancient oriental therapy in which pressure is applied to specific points of the body. It works on the principle that if the body?s energy lines (Meridians) are blocked, imbalances can occur which may manifest as pain, discomfort, fatigue, depression and lead to disease and illness.
When the correct pressure points are stimulated, the body?s energy flow increases, imbalances are corrected and the body?s natural harmony is restored.
Ayurvedic Friction Massage with heated ayurvedic oils
The Friction massage uses quick light movements and heated ayurvedic oil formulations to stimulate blood and lymphatic circulation. It helps brings oxygen and nutrients to tissue cells whilst helping the lymphatic system to filter out waste products. This encourages cell regeneration resulting in soft, smooth looking skin. This massage also helps reduce tiredness and stiffness of the joints and relieves insomnia, strengthens the immune system and gives the skin a vibrant glow.
Aromatherapy Massage
Aromatherapy Massage uses essential oils to enhance physical and mental well-being. The Ultimate Face Balm is used to massage the skin. It has a unique blend fused with essential oils like Jojoba, tea tree and chamomile and carrot oil that have a balancing effect on the skin.
The Technology
Micro dermabrasion
Micro dermabrasion is an accelerated form of exfoliation (the removal of dead cells). Aluminium oxide crystals are gently blasted onto the skin through a plastic tube with a controlled pressure. The peeling effect achieved accelerates the repairing of scar tissue, reduces the thickening of skin, stretch marks and pigmentation problems. It will also help strengthen the skin. A cold laser is then waved over the skin. This helps speed up the skins healing and rejuvenation process.
Intense Pulse Light
This versatile machine allows us to treat your skin on many different levels. In each burst, the IPL produces hundreds of wavelengths of light. Research has shown that a particular wavelength of blue light kills off bacteria, which causes infections and inflammation, helping conditions like acne. Whilst research has shown that another wavelength of red light helps speed up skin rejuvenation; helping to treat skin damage, broken capillaries, skin discoloration, age spots, mottles pigmentation and rosacea. The light heat produced by the IPL (on a different setting) can also help to reduce hyper pigmentation (unwanted pigmentation) and permanently remove unwanted hair.
The IPL is also highly effective for pre ageing skin. Remember that pre ageing skin is not just wrinkles; it can also be a combination of hyper pigmentation, skin laxity and enlarged pores. By stimulating the body's production of collagen, skin will have a smoother texture, pores appear smaller and fine lines and wrinkles are reduced; thus increasing skin elasticity. In addition to looking younger any redness or flushing is reduced; our cytochromes - the part of our cells that respond to light and colour are activated. This increase in energy stimulates tissue growth and cell regeneration
Myolift the non-surgical face lift
A great non-surgical face lift tool, which helps to lift and tone facial muscles. Pads are placed on large and small facial muscles and electrical impulses are passed through them. This causes the muscles to contract and relax, giving them a good workout. Immediate results can be seen, so perfect if you have a special evening planned.
Flowtron Lymphatic Boots
The Flowtron lymphatic boots are designed to boost the lymphatic circulatory system. Each leg is put into a pair of inflatable boots or leggings, which intermittently compress and decompress. A 40-minute session offers the equivalent of five hours of massage!
Resonance Magnet Therapy
All Face and body treatments are carried out on couches that a fitted with a magnetic resonance bed. Its magnetic field helps to stimulate circulation, calm the body and help re balance it. A magnetic pad can also be applied to localised areas.
